Tom Castle, Tenor

Tom began his musical education as a chorister and organ scholar at St Peter’s Collegiate Church, Wolverhampton. After a year as a choral scholar at Exeter Cathedral, he then studied Music at the University of Bristol, during which time he sang as a Lay Clerk in the cathedral choir.

Tom first sang with the Tallis Scholars in Cremona, Italy in 2018. Since this first concert, Tom has toured extensively around the world with the group and appears on several recordings.

Alongside his busy career with the Tallis Scholars, Tom works for other British ensembles, such as The Sixteen, Stile Antico and The Gabrieli Consort. A great enthusiast of the English Cathedral tradition, Tom has held positions in the choirs of Exeter, Bristol, Chichester and Southwark Cathedrals, and now sings regularly with the choirs of Westminster Abbey and Westminster Cathedral.

Tom also works as a teacher and Early Music educator. He taught piano and vocal studies at the Royal Ballet School for six years and is a tutor on the Tallis Scholars Summer School, and also the Canadian Renaissance Music Summer School.

Tom loves sports and as a keen runner enjoys discovering new routes on tour! He has the difficult task of being a Wolves fan and spends many hours at New Road watching Worcestershire County Cricket Club.
